Colombia has been a wild ride so far and full of many blessings. Ministry has been super chill here which has been nice. My team has been on recycling a lot, we also did children’s ministry last week as well as Aguapanela last night.

An average day for me looks like:

7am: morning devotional/ time with the lord

8:20 am: breakfast

9-11am start ministry work

12:20: lunch

2: either back to ministry work or afternoon off. If the afternoon is off it’s normally team time or we find other ministry work that could be done around the Foundacion.

4-5:15 free time

5:20 dinner

6: team time

Kids ministry: we did kid ministry October 18. We left the Foundacion at 9am. We then walk to pick up the kids at their homes and bring them back here, this normally takes around an hour. Once we get back we play games on the terrace while we wait for everyone to show up. At 10:30 we split up into classes and teach a bible lesson. I was with the 4-6 year olds. I found so much joy being around these kids, it reminded my a lot of my nieces back home(love you Hanley, sawyer, Rori and taytum!). There was one specific girl who clung to me the whole day, her name was myleen and she was the sweetest thing!

aguapanela: this is the homeless ministry we do. We start off in the church here at the Foundacion and have prayer from 5:30-6 then a service following after. We then all pile into the back of a box truck And drive over to the Broncs. In the box truck we are all squished and holding onto the roof. Upon getting there it’s super sad to see. You all prayer as a big group then split into smaller groups. My group of six was: nick, Blake, Carley, Meiko, mo, and then our translator. We then went into the heart of the Broncs. This is very very heartbreaking to be apart of. The street is so crowded with people you are brushing up against them as you walk past. This street was lined with booths all selling drugs, alcohol and other very dangerous items. The surrounding buildings were used as prostitute houses. Once you make it through the diverse crowd you’re allowed to spilt up in the little area you are in. One of the guys we talked to was Alejandro. Alejandro has such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. We did get to share Jesus with him and invited him to stay at the Foundacion on another night. Being female you aren’t technically supposed to interact with these people, especially the men and definitely not alone so I was with Nick the while this conversation was happening. My eyes darted around me as I watched multiple people start shooting drugs into their systems through needles. I saw people having sex and people smoking pipes and mixing drugs and just so much brokenness . After talking to multiple people we walked back through the crowd and headed toward the other side of the street. We then talked to a guy named Renee and he only had one leg and walked one his hands. We also got the share the Gospel with him. While all this is happening a group of us are back at the box truck handing out bread to these people. After this we headed back to the truck and drove back to the Foundacion. My team then met up and we talked about what we saw and experienced then we prayed for the people that we encountered.

adventure days: our adventure days are on Thursdays. Normally I stay here at the Foundacion and spend time with the lord. The past two adventure days though we have gotten pizza at Simone’s pizza love ( best pizza in Medellín) and have evangelized in that area. Our sabbaths are on mondays last week me and Blake went out and bought a fish and named him sushi.

  1. “Wow, wow, wow! I am so incredibly proud of you. What a dark and broken world we live in, yet how beautiful it is that you are shining the light of Jesus right in the midst of it. What a powerful calling and testimony! I’m continually lifting you up in prayer, for your safety, your strength, and your health, both physically and spiritually. Remember to guard your heart and mind, and take time to rest in His presence. Do something that refreshes you and don’t forget your birthday is just around the corner! I love you so much, and I thank God for you every day.”
